This is a very hard time for many of us in the voice over business.

Since we established WoVO in 2012, our industry has changed significantly. Making a living now takes massive amounts of marketing and social media savvy. If you perhaps suffer from inexperience in this part of the business, you’ve been hit hardest. Is it AI or the sheer numbers of people who thought that it was a cool way to put bread on the table?

The talent market is saturated. If you’ve been plugging away and just not connecting with potential clients, I’m sure you are having more than second thoughts about doing this as a career.

Market forces can be out of our control. But WoVO offers help to survive. Chief among them is the community we’ve created. If you’ve attended a WoVOcon, you know exactly what I mean.

If you haven’t, your opportunity is here. WoVOCon VIII: “Allies in Inspiration” will be held in Chicago, IL October 18-20 at the Royal Sonesta Chicago River North.

You can now register, here:   https://www.world-voices.org/event/wovocon-viii/

With its arrival in the Windy City, WoVOCon brings back the engagement, learning, and camaraderie of the UNconference format!

For those unfamiliar, learn more at WoVOCON.com and read all about it! It’s best to learn and commune with your peers than it is to sit and listen to people selling their wares.

Those of us who attended this type of conference in years past will all say it made a huge difference in their careers. That…and the friends they made and the mentors they met. We’re so excited to bring it back!

We are also trying to move World-voices into the future. We want your input and participation. It’s your organization. How can you get involved and help make a difference in yours and your peers careers??

Join us in Chi-town this year and dig in!
